FortiWeb 600F (FWB-600F) is a hardware Web Application Firewall appliance with 4x 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports including one bypass pair, 2x SFP GbE ports, 480GB SSD, hardware SSL offload, and dual AC power supplies for higher-availability web application protection.

Overview

FortiWeb 600F ships as a hardware appliance only; FortiWeb service bundles are purchased and licensed separately. The appliance carries four 10/100/1000 RJ45 interfaces, one of which is a bypass pair, meaning traffic on those interfaces continues to pass through if the appliance loses power or enters a safe-fail state. This prevents the WAF from becoming a hard failure point in inline deployments. Two SFP GbE ports provide fiber connectivity for uplinks that require it.

Hardware SSL offload is the defining capability separating the 600F from the 400F. Rather than decrypting and re-encrypting TLS sessions in software on the main CPU, the 600F offloads that work to dedicated hardware. In high-HTTPS environments, which describes most production web application stacks, this sustains inspection performance as traffic volumes grow without competing with the inspection engine for CPU cycles.

Storage is a 480GB SSD for log retention, captures, and threat intelligence caching. Dual AC power supplies allow one PSU to fail or be replaced without taking the appliance offline. FortiWeb covers OWASP Top 10 threats, API abuse, malicious bots, credential-stuffing, and application-layer DDoS; machine-learning anomaly detection reduces false positives.
